The Boston Celtics (26-26) will host the Minnesota Timberwolves (13-39) on Friday night as they attempt to push above .500 once again. Tip-off from TD Garden will be at 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Timberwolves-Celtics odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The T-Wolves own the worst record in the NBA right now, having lost seven of their last 10 games. They rank near the bottom of the league in scoring (109.8 points per game, 23rd in the NBA), and they scored between 102 and 108 points in seven straight games from March 22 to April 2. They're carried by C Karl Anthony-Towns, who's averaging 24.8 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.

The Celtics are just 5-5 in their last 10 games but have won three of their last four - including a win over the New York Knicks Wednesday without PG Kemba Walker (rest). After a day off Thursday, the Celtics should be rested and ready to go against an inferior Timberwolves team - though Boston is just 19-14 as the favorites this season.

The Celtics should win this game, but they've been far too inconsistent this season. I don't feel confident enough in them to win handily against a Timberwolves team that consistently scores around 105-110 points per game.

If the Celtics go cold from 3-point range, this game could stay close. PASS on the chalky money line.

Against the spread (ATS)

The Celtics are giving up a decent amount of points at -8.5. The last time they were favored by that many was against the Charlotte Hornets and Houston Rockets, and they covered both times.

But the Timberwolves could sneak up on Boston if Towns has a big game inside, where the Celtics can be exploited. I like the TIMBERWOLVES (+8.5, -110) to cover.

Over/Under (O/U)

The Over/Under is 227.5 points, the highest total in the last five games for the Celtics. The total has gone Under in Boston's last seven games and in four of the Timberwolves' last six games.
